Love's Harmonious Symphony

Lover, Swift's seventh album, was released on August 23rd, 2019.  These songs are all kind of self-explanatory by the title itself but for reference, she wrote this album while in a relationship with Joe Alwyn. Joe and her proceeded to date for 6 years total. What seems to be all glitter and glam because she is in love. This album consists of a lot of vulnerability, due to the ability to love so hard you are also putting yourself in a position of understanding that you can also lose it. Despite the circumstances, Swift displays what it means to put your all into someone. Although my favorite album is Folklore due to the lyricism in the entire album, and just how raw her emotions were, "The Archer" was the fifth track on the album that displays what fans would say about what it means to struggle, even alone. The song represents those who never feel like they're truly understood, those who may even suffer from anxiety. Those who may even be overlooked, and for once just want to be loved for who they really are. With lyrics such as "They see right through me" and how it quickly shifts to "I see right through me" is just the lingering question who could love her for her? The phrase "Who could ever leave me, darling? But who could stay?" shows the overthinking side of where your head is in a constant battle of "What will they think of me?" "Am I a burden to others?" just constantly almost fighting an invisible battle with yourself. And we see towards the end Swift kind of grows to accept it and understands that just because her battle scars aren't physically there doesn't mean they didn't happen. It doesn't take away from her feelings because what she felt and who she felt it about is valid and just because there is someone out there with maybe a worse situation it doesn't take away your feelings in the slightest. You are still seen.

Another fan favorite was "Cornelia Street" This song is really cool because you can interpret this song happily or sadly and that's the power of a great song. She ties the person and the street as one, indicating how much she cares for them and fundamentally saying that if she were to lose this person she couldn't even walk the street again. Swift expresses this idea in so many other songs as well. For example in "My Tears Ricochet" in her Folklore album, Swift states " I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want, just not home" This exhibits that she can't process the idea of losing her "home" so much so that she would not even be able to walk on "Cornelia" street again. There is also a huge fear factor as well in this hints with the phrase " And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends" yet she loves anyways, and I think that's the beauty of Cornelia Street.
